Nepal's Top IT Companies

I was just scrolling through the internet when I came across blogs, articles and sites about Top IT Companies in Nepal. It did make an interesting read for the first post that I clicked on Google Search. But as I went through the other articles I realised that they were basically listing the same IT companies. They were either adding their own company name (if it was an IT company's blog) or tweaking the names by either promoting or sponsoring a new IT company in their list.

Another interesting thing that I realised was the listing wasn’t original. Almost zero research. Most of them were basically following a 2012 listing generated by a blog site by the name Everest Uncensored (who interestingly have now migrated their blog to EverestList). 
They did a basic survey but it was more of a self-proclaimed recognition by the company members of Cotiviti & Deerwalk as they listed themselves as the number 1 and number 2 IT companies respectively.

Nothing wrong in considering themselves as the best in Nepal except that they were actually not. Most of them are multinational companies and I personally do not know of any of their products or services that are actually making any impact in Nepal or our local communities. But yeah what they are doing is creating job opportunities for the wannabes and pay handsomely, contributing a bit to the country’s economy. In return they get to hire some of the best students, professionals and minds. 

In recent months a few more blog posts seem to have surfaced that rank the companies based on the employee count. But I feel it still does not justify the topic. Let’s say if a Nepali consumer is looking for a certain IT service in Nepal, most of these ranked companies won’t be able to address their need. 

Therefore I decided to come up with a blog that could differentiate the companies based on the services that they are providing. If you think any of the companies or services are missing in the list then please feel free to comment in the section below and I might consider your request.

I have listed the companies based on the employee count in this case as I believe as an outsourcing company their real value for Nepal is in the salary tax they are paying to the government, the rentals, other resource consumption and expenses. Since such companies mostly sell their services and products from overseas, there’s not much in product sales tax that these companies can generate for Nepal.
